Game Recap

This was a very competitive game and Northwest’s Julia Perez had the first goal of the game in the first half. The offensive line of Claire Chung, Perez, and Adrianna Leith, had superb passing sequences and upfield movement which lead to a through pass to Perez. She made a fast-break up the field and masterfully dodged the goalie to score. Very close to the end of the first half Quince Orchard scored, making it a tie game. it remained a 1-1, hard-fought, game, until just over 5 minutes left int he game when QO was able to put another point on the board when a hard drive from QO deflected off of a Jags stick, hitting the NW Sweep, Erin Lynch, in the face mask, and then going in the goal. It was a confusing and contested goal, but QO ended up with the point. The Jags defense was spectacular, as was the midfield play by Sydney Gabitzer, Makaela Chin, and Kayla Jan that kept pressure of the QO defense and consistently fed the ball to the front line.
